Universidad Azteca de Chalco is also listed with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Association of Universities under the list of universities of Mexico and the International Handbook of official directory Universities of accredited universities published by the United Nations IAU.
The term "Universidad" is a legally protected name in Mexico, indicating that the university is offering at least five different officially recognised study programmes at the Licenciado (Masters) or postgraduate level in at least three study areas, including humanities.
The suffix edu.mx is equally a protected domain reserved for recognised universities and higher education providers in Mexico.

“But having said that it is vital to recognise that, while higher education may be traded in a marketplace, it is a quite different proposition from cars or bananas. The challenge is to come up with an appropriate way of maximising the benefits and minimising the dangers now that higher education is a global phenomenon.”

UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio, Murcia, Spain
UCAM, founded in 1996, is a private catholic university in Guadalupe, Murcia in the province of Murcia. UCAM academic offering comprises 22 undergraduate and 34 postgraduate degree programmes. UCAM has the right to award doctorates. There are currently 14 PhD programmes. UCAM has the right to award own degrees (otros títulos, grados propios) and to validate programmes provided by partner universities in order to award the own degree of UCAM.
